Director of HR - stealth mode consumer-tech company in NYC

We seek an assertive, highly organized, energetic professional, who is a good communicator and
leader. The Director of HR is primarily responsible for developing and implementing all HR programs and managing all aspects of team member relations and development. The Director of HR will manage recruiting, on-boarding processes, compensation, and benefits.
The Director of HR is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. This position manages team members of the US HR department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring within that department. This professional will serve as a primary culture setter in the company.
A. Executes the development of the staffing plan that conforms to the business plan. Put programs in place that ensure we meet all hiring plans.
B. Implement and manage the overall Performance Management Program.
C. Implementation of the corporate compensation programs that conform to the overall business plan.
D. Work with the various functions in the company to develop employee training and development programs.
E. Execution of the company benefits programs and ensure the company stays competitive with the market.
F. Drive third party recruiting organizations that will help the company to achieve it staffing plans on time and on budget.
G. Manages the US Talent Acquisition, monitors and maintains current and projected talent metrics; conducts interviews and manages US enablement process for new hires.
H. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
I. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance.
J. Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation
pertaining to all team matters.
K. Communicates changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
L. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
M. Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on team matters.
N. Works with Function Leaders to guide them in their actions regarding personnel matters.
O. Recommends and participates in team development for the organization.
P. Develops and maintains the payroll software & HRIS that meets the organization’s information needs.
Q. Supervises the team of the human resource department.
R. Participates on team and programs, as requested.
A. BA or BS degree, required
B. Master’s degree, preferred.
C. SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential, preferred.
A. 10+ years of HR experience, Generalist or HR Business Partner
B. 5 years as HR functional management.
C. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing recruitment strategies, marketing plans, policies and programs.
D. Proven HR business partner skills including consultation with leadership; performance
management; succession planning; workforce planning; talent acquisition; compensation planning; learning & development; employee relations & compliance.
E. Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
F. Strong analytical skills to leverage data and a fact-base in delivering HR programs and strategies that effectively address business issues.
G. Demonstrated ability to develop and improve processes with internal and external customers in a third-party environment.
H. Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and Confluence
I. Experience in a global work environment.
J. Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced
K. Preferred experience with large company that has state of the art HR programs.
L. Preferred experience as lead or manager at startup, experiencing hyper growth
A. Exceptional time management, analytical and managerial skills, work ethic and customer service orientation.
B. Must be an excellent listener and communicator.
C. Able to drive completion and closure of internal project on time and on budget.
D. Able to drive target cultural norms within the company inside and outside the HR dept.
E. Must be highly organized and able to multitask.
F. Strong project planning, management and supervisory experience required.
G. Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and engage in and lead cross-functional teams and initiatives.
